Carroll University Cheer

Teams:  coed team that cheers for football and basketball
Tryouts:  live tryouts in September for football and in November for basketball
Required skills:  females perform a toe touch and two jumps of choice, as well as a cheer and dance; males perform a toe touch and one jump of choice and basic cheer motions.  All athletes perform basic stunting skills at tryouts.  Tumbling is welcome, but not required.
Approximate program costs:  personal items such as shoes, briefs, and body liner

Rockford College

Teams: White Team: all-girl team that cheers for football and basketball, Purple Teams: coed team & all-girl competition team
Tryouts: live tryouts in April or May, video submissions are accepted for out of state students
Required skills: White Team: perform all the jumps they know, perform fight song, chants and dances; Purple team:  demonstrate strong jumps, motions, and crowd leading ability, perform fight song, chants and dances; a minimum of an extension pop cradle, tumbling a plus, but not required
Approximate program costs: personal items, $150-$200 the first year, $20-$25 subsequent years; uniforms provided by school; fundraisers are available to offset personal costs
Scholarships: none offered at this time; spirit program members are eligible for co-curricular based scholarships the college offers.
Time commitment: cheerleaders and stuntmen are expected to attend all men's and women's basketball games and football games, post-season tournament games, team workouts, team fundraising events, and any other scheduled university or community events. White Team: season runs from end of August to mid March, with practices 1 time a week, with some summer practices. Purple Team: season runs from May to April, with practices 2-3 times plus time in the weight room
