Coach of the Year

WACPC Board of Directors will be presenting the annual WACPC State Cheer Coach and Dance Coach of the Year Awards to the recipients at their respective State Championships.

Coaches, team members, parents, administrators, athletic directors, and Booster Club members are encouraged to nominate their coach to be the WACPC State Coach of the Year for Cheer or Dance. A panel of administrators, guidance counselors, cheer/dance coaches will choose the winners. It is truly an honor for any coach to be nominated.

Nominations can only be made via application which includes all material below. All nominations must be postmarked no later than December 1, 2011. The WACPC State Coach of the Year will receive a plaque, a one-year membership to the WACPC for the following year, and have his or her picture and information on the web site and in WACPC publications.

Nominees not selected for the current year may be reconsidered for two years beyond the initial nomination year providing the nominator contacts the Coach of the Year Committee. Updated application materials for coaches being considered for these years must be made by the December 1st deadline.

Coach of the Year presentations will be held at state events as well as at the coach's school if possible.

Nomination Criteria

ESSENTIAL 

• Must be a current WACPC, Inc. member
• Must have coached during the present school year
• Must have attended the current year District/Rules meeting
• Must be enthusiastic and dedicated to making their program fun, safe, and educational for each member

DESIRABLE 

• Has gone above and beyond the call of their duties for their team, sport, and career
• May be a varsity, jv, middle school, rec, or all star coach

INFORMATION NEEDED 

• Letter of recommendation from nominator including an email address
• Letter of recommendation from a maximum of two athletes, two parents, one administrator, and one community member
• Letter of recommendations should be a maximum of one page in length
• Please limit the number of newspaper clippings, magazine articles, photos, and other materials stating these accomplishments to three pages
• Portrait-type photograph to be used in WACPC publications
• Do not use any highlighters to point out specific facts
• Please type all material so that copy is legible and submit on 8½" x 11" plain paper
• Put coach’s name on all material
• NOTE:  Nominated coach will be notified and asked to submit a one-page document including a history of her/his coaching career and accomplishments and a paragraph on "why I coach"
