WACPC
2006-2007
"Coach of
the Year"
Cheer & Dance coaches can be nominated by
their team members, parents, administrators
or booster club members. It is truly an
honor for any coach to be nominated. After
coaches are nominated, the Coach of the Year
is then chosen by a panel of administrators,
guidance counselors, cheer and dance coaches
and WACPC board members. Thank You to all
those who nominated their coaches this year.
We had some really outstanding candidates!
Cheer Coach of the
Year
Tamie Neilson:
Wolf River All-Stars,
25 + years of coaching
Her school’s principal says,
“She puts her heart and soul into the sports
of cheer and dance and makes personal
sacrifices. She has amazing organizational
skills that allow her to be successful in
running a big program with so many
athletes.”
A team mom says,
“She is kind, caring, and giving. She has a
“you can do it” attitude and really helps
boost her cheerleader’s self-esteem. She is
tough when she needs to be and at other
times she is a marshmallow.”
A cheerleaders says,
“She embodies the very meaning of spirit,
she is a selfless lady. She motivates and
provides an opportunity for young athletes
to grow and develop into the person they
want to become. She is a great influence on
our lives and genuinely cares about us at
practice and outside of practice.”
A quote Tamie tells her team, “There
are no such things as losers, as long as you
enjoy what you do.”
Dance Coach of the Year
Lynn Maas: Ashwaubenon High School
Her school’s principals says,
“She coaches the whole person…not just the
dancer. She has served as a counselor and
has been like a second mom to her dancers.
She goes to great lengths to make sure each
dancer has success on the floor and in the
classroom. She makes sure to provide her
team with all the opportunities and
amenities needed to perform at their highest
level.”
Team parents quotes:
“She is someone who truly cares about each
and every dancer as if they were her own
children.” “She demands hard work and
dedication and models integrity and respect
to her team members.” “She has also
helped teach the dancers what school spirit
is and she leads the team in many community
activities and they raise funds to donate to
different organizations like Breast Cancer
Awareness, Hurricane Katrina, and their team
even helps purchase Christmas gifts for
families in need.” “She is also a
fantastic role model for a life-long
commitment to exercise and health.”
Dancers write:
“She pushes us to be everything we can be
and always tells us to remember to be
classy.” “She is a mother, a role-model, a
teacher, and a friend to us.” “I’m so
grateful she has been my coach and I will
never forget the person she has helped me
become.”
